For the 2019-20 school year, Fountainview Academy will be traveling down to the USA for a tour in December. Students need to have insurance to cover them while they are on this tour. Students may already have insurance that covers them in the USA (resident insurance or travel insurance). Students who do not have insurance that covers them while in the USA, must purchase travel insurance through the school for the December tour for a fee of $17 CAD. The insurance is for emergency medical treatment only, and will not cover pre-existing conditions.
If Fountainview Academy offers any official school international trips - such as a senior class trip or an all-school overseas trip, etc. travel insurance will be purchased to cover students and those fees will be included in the fund-raising amounts.
Fountainview Academy provides free transportation to and from the Seattle International Airport (SEA) at the beginning and end of each break, including summer break. Fountainview Academy does not provide any travel insurance coverage for such trips when students travel to/from the Seattle airport.
Some students who are not from the USA sometimes choose to visit friends or family in the USA for a weekend or a school break. You should keep in mind that if you do not have insurance that covers your child while they are in the USA, then they would not have insurance for that type of trip, because it is not covered by Fountainview Academy either.
