Course Design Clinic
(November 11 & 12)
$400/participant; Limited to 15 participants
NOTE: Auditing is NOT available unless all spots fill.
This is a two day, in depth look at course design, international trends & some practical course building, handling & judging exercises.
Tamas will speak about how to create a fast, flowing yet challenging course that is safe for the dogs. He will discuss differences in course design for small/medium dogs vs large dogs, safety issues and how to keep your course design fair and fun for dogs and handlers
We will be running dogs on some of the course designs that we discuss, as well as doing some practical judging. You may be required to submit courses before hand, although they do not have to be your own course designs. They could be designs you have seen and would like to discuss in more detail.
Due to the limited opportunities to attend course design seminars, current AAC judges will be given priority for participant spots. All participants are encouraged to bring a competition dog for the practical exercises. Dogs must be proficient on all the equipment as the emphasis is on running courses, or parts of courses, to get a better understanding of how course design & handling can affect each other.
