Anyone wishing to apply to be listed on the VSO's Breeders' List MUST comply with the Breeders' Code of Practice (2019) as well as be a regular VSO member for one year or more (i.e., not probationary). Note there are a few changes from past requirements. For example, thyroid testing and clearance is NEW!
To comply for example, do you:
-
Conduct the required health checks and obtain certified clearances - a) hips b) eyes & c)
thyroid (
NEW
)
- on your breeding bitches?
-
Require the stud owner to do the same health clearances as well (hips, eyes & thyroid) if you don't own the stud dog?
-
Have a written contract containing the requirements laid out in the VSO Breeders' Code of Practice, e.g., health guarantee, lifelong support, etc.?
Before proceeding with the application, review the Code of Practice document carefully as you will also be asked to attest to some of the key points contained in the Code to be approved for the VSO Breeders' List. Thank you!
