2022 Thornton Farmers' Market
Welcome to the application page for the 2022 Thornton Farmers' Market!

This market is held every Friday afternoon, from 11-5 pm, beginning on May 27 until October 21, a 22-week commitment.

Our corner location on County Road 27 and Innisfil Beach Road makes this a hotspot for weekend cottage traffic on their way to the Georgian Bay from the GTA. This location is also a short drive for residents of Cookstown, South Barrie, Baxter, and Egbert.

Thornton is a commuter community, and has no local grocery. It is also a 20-minute drive from the nearest local farmers markets in Barrie, Innisfil and Angus. The community members are very supportive of this effort, and we have enjoyed their support since opening in 2018.

If you are a farmer or hand-crafter in the neighbouring communities of Essa and Innisfil townships, or from Simcoe County, I invite you to take part in this very affordable and extremely appealing market. We put an emphasis on selecting vendors who are within 30 minutes of Thornton, but if you have a unique product, applications from beyond our area are considered.

Once you are approved, payment will be needed by May 1, 2020 to allow us to pay the property owner as well as necessary insurance coverage and marketing materials.

We allow vendors to drive onto the field to unload their materials. Vehicles must then be removed and parked in parking zones. Vendors arriving after the market opens will have to hand carry their materials from the parking area to allow shoppers safe access in the market.

2022 Market Rates

All rates include the HST. Community groups are free. All fees must be paid prior to the market day.
SEASONAL BOOTH For 22 weeks. $18.63/week, a $250 savings over the weekly rate. Payment due by May 1 once space is approved.

AGREEMENT OF COMPLIANCE AND HOLD HARMLESS:
I have read and am fully aware of current Thornton Farmers’ Market Rules and Regulations. I hereby agree to comply with these regulations and all other Federal, Provincial and local regulations, and I apply knowing full well I will forfeit my right to sell at the Thornton Farmers’ Market if I am found to be in non-compliance.

Furthermore, I shall indemnify and hold-harmless, the Thornton Farmers’ Market, its members, board members, manager, agents, and employees, from and against all claims, demands, losses, damages, actions, suits of proceedings by any third parties that may arise out of, or may attribute to all operations performed by or carried out by his/her agents, employees, or anyone for whose acts he/she may be held liable, howsoever caused.

Vendor also agrees that information gathered by the Thornton Farmers’ Market may be disclosed to the township of Essa for the development of a business database.

Vendor agrees to the release of his/her name and/or photograph for use in current or future promotional publications, articles, website in connection with the Thornton Farmers’ Market, and the Township of Essa.
