Through generous donations to Presbyterians Sharing, it is possible for The Presbyterian Church in Canada to partner with synods to support initiatives across the country through Regional Resourcing Grants. The LMA relies heavily upon the wisdom and insight of synods and presbyteries to assess the needs of the local context and to forward requests to the LMA after ensuring there is strong appropriate leadership and support for the work to be carried out with a Regional Resourcing Grant.
Step 1. The applying body assembles the following supporting documents:
Information Collection Form (required)
Narrative description of the project (required)
Budget for the forthcoming year (required)
Step 2. The requesting body (synod or presbytery) reviews the proposal and documents and decides to either endorse or not endorse a request. The minutes are to reflect the decision of the court to request a Regional Resourcing Grant. This motion should include the name of the program and the amount requested, for example:
On motion of J. Calvin/J. Knox it was agreed that the Synod of Caledonia transmit a request for a Regional Resourcing Grant of $10,000 to help fund a Clergy Retreat within the presbytery. All supporting documents (application form, narrative description, budget for the forthcoming year) are to be sent to the Life and Mission Agency for consideration.
Step 3. The online form is submitted with required documentation. It is necessary to have all the information ready prior to starting. The online grant application is available below.
Step 4. The form and supporting documentation will be reviewed by the General Secretary of the Life and Mission Agency and the Associate Secretaries for Canadian Ministries and Stewardship.
Each project request will require a separate application
Acknowledgment should be given to Presbyterians Sharing as the source of funding for the project.
